Coarse fishing

The big skies, the abundant wildlife, the calmness of the countryside and the varied species of fish all go to make fishing in Norfolk a real pleasure. I have enjoyed fishing since I was 8 years old and have fished in many counties. North Norfolk is one of the best, with a large variety of fisheries plus The Broads, North Walsham and Dilham canal and the open sea….. all to be enjoyed by young and old. It is always good to see granddads teaching their grandchildren, a sport that crosses generations. During the summer months I often fish at Blickling for bream and roach. I start early in the morning and as I make my way down to the lake if I am lucky I will see a barn owl hunting, as I set up my fishing tackle it is usual to spot a kingfisher or two, close by, in the reeds moorhens and mallards are starting their day. Buzzards often appear overhead and a cheeky robin will help himself to the bait. A Norfolk Angler

Hi, advice please? My wife and I (both pensioners) have been visiting Mundesley for many years, the last 3 years we have taken our grandchildren with us, last year I tried in vain to find the ‘puddle’ to take them fishing but was not successful?
We are staying again 1st week of August and I’d like to take them fishing, I have not fished myself since I was a child! so obviously very rusty, I wonder if there is anyone local who we could meet up with for a bit of advice/tuition?
Any advice greatly appreciated, thank you.
    Kind regards, John. (Coventry)

Staying for a long weekend in Mundesley in April but new to course fishing and didn’t realise most close for the season between mid March and mid May.

The Close season is from the 15th march until 16th June you could try Chapel road lake Roughton that may? accommodate.
Please check for information on “Stanning Hall lake” as it is under new management it’s now called “Toad Hall Fishery”. [email protected]
